Sew, sew, quick quick sew!!!!

Hi needle tweakers

What a busy time I have had these last few days working with Susan Crawford on the 'Stitch in time Volume 2'.
My nimble fingers have been working like the clappers, sewing up and knitting the finishing touches to some of the garments.  The designs are beautiful as are the yarns and the colour ranges.  I worked with Susan's Excelana yarn which has a lovely rich colour palette, as well as other lovely yarns which will feature in the book.

Last week I had the privilege of watching one of the photo shoots for the book, the transformation of the models was amazing.  The atmosphere was buzzing!!  It was a real insight into the world of fashion and modelling of knitwear. You cannot appreciate the amount of time and effort it takes to research, rewrite and edit patterns, knit and make up the garments, and organise a photo shoot, as well as a host of other related tasks.

This book is going to be really, really good, I can't wait!!!!

Bye for now, keep tweaking,

love Catherine x

Bye Nadal, hello Rafasaurus!!!

Hi Tweakers,

Well I have to say I am disappointed Rafa didn't win yesterday, but congratulations to Novak well deserved for awesome play!!  I was frantically finishing a dinosaur for my young second cousin Alex - meet the Rafasaurus!!

Crocheted in DK yarn on a 4mm and 3mm hook.  This design is loosely based on Marleen Hartog's, Dudley Dinosaur. http://marleen.notlong.com.

Turned on his side to maintain an even colour, of course he has on suntan lotion and his shades!!

I love to make Amigurumi creatures they are ideal when you just want to play with yarn or need more or less instant gratification!!

As well as Rafasaurus I have started to make Annette Petavy's Summer Cardi, from Issue 8 of
Inside Crochet.  This makes up really quickly I am not very patient at the moment, seem to want things made yesterday!!

Just finished the back
.....and a closer look!

This is made with Patons Smoothie DK 100% acrylic and is lovely to work with, its smooth and silky .  It does split easily so care needs to be taken when working with it. Shade is Lime believe it or not!

Now I have to make a decision, do I design indoors or out in the sun - no contest really!!!

Keep tweaking peeps,
love Catherine x
